Looks like 410,000 are now without power due to the ongoing ice storm hitting our nation. Hope everyone who has a power outage gets their mess resolved soon!

Update: Almost 1 million are without power and even more damage has been caused by this gigantic ice storm sweeping our nation. We hope everyone in Oklahoma and the other mid-western states is doing OK!

morse code

Joe and I were talking today, wondering how the abbreviation of WX came about. In case you didn’t know, WX is short-code for weather that was originally used in the days of Morse code. It’s still used today as an abbreviation and NOAA labels its weather radio stations with a WX prefix.

Next time you visit Philadelphia, order a cheesesteak wif’ WX for a delicious sandwich and a weather forecast.
