Weather Records in 2007

One of my favorite news sites, BreitBart.com, has rounded up weather events that broke the records books in 2007. Did you know that January was hot as hell and that it snowed in South Africa? Bet’cha didn’t! Visit this link to see what 2007 offered us in weather. Have an enjoyable New Year’s Eve everyone!
Snowstorm hits Missouri, Midwest

Looks like a major snowstorm has hit the Midwest again, tragically leaving five people dead. Terrible traffic conditions stretch all the way from Missouri to Iowa down to Oklahoma and airports are experiencing many delays. Be sure to check the weather before you travel!
Breaking: Major storm headed for Northeast
Check CNN’s current feed for up to date information. It seems a major storm is headed for the Northeast and will produce strong winds, mixed rain and ice and lots of snow. And yes, it is related to the storm that has been causing hell for the Midwest.

Feedback Friday
We get good feedback from people quite alot. It helps to keep us motivated to continue improving the site.
Here’s what “Lady A” from Texas had to say:
“It’s nice to find a weather site that isn’t cluttered with too much info…thanks and keep up the good work!”
Dana from Cleveland:
“Great site! I’ve used weather.com, but it takes forever and a day to load. I love this page and this is my new weather place (saw it on Web Worker Daily).
I was wondering if you could add Cleveland, Ohio to your list of Twitter cities. That would be great.
Keep up the great work!”
Merrill from Austin:
“Very impressed that you now show the time the data was last updated. This is truly a 1st class operation. From this old, retired meteorologist — keep up the excellent work. It is GREAT!!!”
That’s all for now. We’re gearing up to launch a new part of SimpleWeather this weekend!
SimpleWeather donates to Funde Razor charity

Last night, one of our friends held an event called
Funde Razor, a joyful night of drinking,
Rock Band the video game and good times. All proceeds went to
Penny Arcade’s Child’s Play; a charity that helps deliver games and toys to children in hospitals. I’m pretty sure the event was a huge success, which is awesome. Over $600k has been raised, so do your part and help out and try to make a donation for a great cause!
